- INDUSTRIAL ACOUSTICS
To prevent hearing loss and produce an acceptable acoustic environment
at industrial sites, Euronoisecontrol - GEIE can assist in determining
the appropriate noise controls - whether they be administrative or involve
the selection of the proper treatments. Our engineers can assist in the
design or layout of a factory to minimize the workers' exposure, can survey
a site to determine compliance with ISO-9000 requirements, diagnose which
units and transmission paths dominate the noise, and determine the optimum
abatement techniques. These treatments must consider cooling, access,
maintenance, regulatory requirements, the nature of the noise - tonal
versus broadband, continuous versus intermittent. In once recent case,
Euronoisecontrol - GEIE has provided a passive silencer for an exhaust
system that replaced an active system. A greater noise reduction was achieved
at one-tenth the cost.

- GEIE uses Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software to model structures such
as large ship hulls or machinery foundations. The FEA models are used to predict
structural natural frequency to determine if a resonant condition could occur.
To assist in designing proper mount isolation systems, Euronoisecontrol - GEIE
analyzes foundation impedances by this method.
Euronoisecontrol - GEIE also employs forced harmonic analysis to predict responses
of a structure to know vibration source levels. Design modifications can be
developed to reduce vibration and stresses on the structure.

MACHINERY
ISOLATION DESIGN
Machinery structureborne vibration is one of the biggest sources of received
noise in factories and buildings.

noise reduction approaches is to vibration isolate offending equipment.
Novel and innovative isolation designs have been developed to overcome
system restraints on space, weight, cost, and operations. To achieve optimal
reductions, Euronoisecontrol - GEIE reviews proper equipment mounting
points, isolator parameters, and performs 360-degree-of-freedom calculations.
Our empirical and analytical tools allow correlation of vibration reduction
to noise reduction.

numerous noise and vibration tests on-site. Our extensive test experience includes
airborne noise or vibration testing or diagnostics, including ISO-9000 surveys.
Euronoisecontrol - GEIE has measured noise on ships of all sizes, manufacturing
facilities, test labs, construction sites and commercial places of business.
Vibration testing capabilities include: machinery vibration, isolator
performance, habitability vibration, diagnostics, resonant peak and damping
coefficient determination.
Euronoisecontrol - GEIE maintains a complete set of acoustic measurement
equipment. Shaft torsional measurements can also be taken with our novel
instrumentation.
DIAGNOSTIC TESTING

- GEIE can diagnose existing noise or vibration problems.
Artificial acoustic sources can be used to determine airborne transmission
paths. Artificial vibration sources - including a 15,000 pound pneumatic
impact hammer or an electro-mechanical shaker - or a modal hammer can
be used to determine the characteristics of the structure.
Euronoisecontrol - GEIE has successfully diagnosed shafting, bearing,
and machinery type noise and vibration problems,and maintains a complete
set of modern instrumentation, including spectrum analyzers, microphones,
and accelerometers.

for new design projects. A review of drawings and building specifications
